The Carriage Barn Equestrian Center is looking for volunteers to assist with Therapeutic Riding & Carriage Driving and Hippotherapy. Volunteers are needed at various times throughout the week.
Volunteers must be at least 14 years old. Adults and retirees welcome. Experience and horse knowledge is a plus, but not required. The center is planning to hold volunteer training sessions on February 20 & 27 (2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m). Anyone interested in learning more can contact the center at 603-378-0140, email carriage-barn@comcast.net, or check our website at www.carriage-barn.com.

The equestrian center is located in Newton, New Hampshire. The programs seek to promote the health and well-being people who have disabilities by enhancing their physical, psychological, cognitive and emotional healing and strengthening through equine activities. Program activities utilize horses to provide opportunities for these individuals to form unique relationships that nurture and empower them in a way that brings new insights, self-confidence, improved communication, and relaxation. In the context of a quiet, natural outdoor setting, these activities provide a serene learning environment.

The program is a 501(c)3 Not-for-Profit Organization, as well as a member center of the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (www.narha.org).
