Pennsylvania Arabian Horse Association February 2010 News
PAHA President’s Message
I am pleased to report a nice turnout for our annual meeting near State College on December 6. After an abbreviated business meeting which featured election of 2010 delegates and approval of a group of bylaws revisions, we moved on to a nice meal arranged by Jack and Carla Mullen and a variety of activities.
Thanks especially to the Northwest District for the trivia game; Pam Blesh and the North Central Singers for the music; all who participated in the awards programs (see results in this issue) and those who handled the presentations; everyone who brought items for the silent auction; and those who purchased them, resulting in nearly $400 raised for youth programs.
At our next state meeting in the Harrisburg area on March 14, we will be continuing our work on the bylaws.
May you and your families, both human and equine, have a safe and happy start on the new year and the fortitude to get through the difficult winter months and on to the more equine-friendly time of the year.

PAHA Sponsors 4-H Championship
Each year the PAHA sponsors a class at the Pennsylvania State 4-H Show held in Harrisburg, PA. Recently we received the following note from the appreciative winner in the class.
“I wanted to express my thanks for your donation of the award plaque for the PA State 4-H Horse Show 2009. I received the first place placing in the Half Arabian Yearling Gelding. It was so very exciting! My colt, Shantah’s Little Man, is Half Arabian and half Percheron. It was our first trip to Harrisburg and lots of fun! Thank you again for supporting the youth and the 4-H program.”
