Do You Know An Outstanding Horse Person for 2009?

The recipient will be honored at the annual Farm & Forest breakfast on Saturday, February 6. This is a wonderful opportunity for a true horse person to be honored for an outstanding service to the equine industry as well as the community, so get those nominations in before the end of the year. Suggested guidelines for selection criteria: New  Hampshire Horse Council Member; NH  resident for three years+; farm/stable owner with excellent horse health management and farm management practices (further explanation below):
Health Management
• General appearance of horse
• Evidence of equine health programs

Farm Management
• Condition of farm & facilities (turnouts, pastures, riding surfaces, fencing)
• Pest & vermin control
• Conditions of stalls & barn
• Condition of tack & equipment
• Emergency evacuation plan
• First aid ¬– equine & human
• Fire prevention & protection plan
• Manure management

Leader or active participant in a horse-related organization; active in local community horse-related activities; active on a state level in the horse community; active on a national level in the horse community; is a professional horse person volunteering in other disciplines, i.e., farrier  who is active in the Draft Horse Association, a breed association, involved in local fundraising events, etc.; and promotes the true meaning of sportsmanship in every sense of the word. In what way has he/she made your involvement with horses more meaningful? Feel free to expand on areas not mentioned above for consideration of this nomination.
