Gypsy Dance Ranch, owned/operated by Melanie Kucera, of Maple Lake, Minnesota, is proud to introduce Sir Royal Excalibur, an exquisite silver dapple (chocolate palomino) stallion, imported from the United Kingdom in the fall of 2005.
Sir Royal Excalibur was sired by The Boss (aka: The Business) and is blessed with excellent conformation, movement, bone and feather. He has shone in the Kentucky Park show ring against all Gypsy colors. He is a world class Gypsy stallion and proven sire, passing his perfect Gypsy physical attributes and his kind and generous temperament on to his show-ring quality foals. Excalibur is the only chocolate palomino Gypsy stallion who is producing champion show winners with excellent Gypsy disposition, conformation, and feather traits. A Sir Royal Excalibur 2007 colt won five firsts out of five classes including Gypsy Stallion Champion and overall Supreme Gypsy. In 2009 Excalibur produced all chocolate palomino foals on black and white mares with the exception of one.
Gypsy Dance Ranch is proud to have produced many quality foals on the farm that sell, including a stallion that was sold back to Tom Price in the U.K., a breeder known for his own fine Gypsy bloodlines. Owner Melanie, a lifelong equestrian and veteran Arabian horse breeder, now breeds the Gypsy legacy exclusively. “I imported my first Gypsy mare in 2004, and I was hooked!” exclaims Melanie. “It’s true, they are like potato chips – you can’t just have one.” Gypsy Dance Ranch has anywhere from nine to 20 Gypsies at a time.
“In 2006 I purchased Sir Royal Excalibur, and life has never been the same since!” notes Melanie. “He impressed me from Day One with his kind eyes, larger size, sweet disposition, lots of feather and perfect Gypsy conformation. I loved the idea that he was different!” Today he stands 15.1 hands, has a short back, a royal head, and heavy bone. He is becoming an outstanding sire as he is improving the foals and consistently passing on his good Gypsy traits.
“I am truly humbled to own Excalibur,” says Melanie. “He is very personable. When I wean the foals he is an excellent nanny. He loves to play with them and is very kind to them and shares his grain. He is extremely social. Excalibur is just starting his legacy, and we have been very successful to have excellent Gypsy mares that are bred here today. Excalibur is also available to a limited number of outside mares for breeding by artificial insemination only.”
“We are also pleased to announce our newest up and coming stallion, a solid palomino buckskin. Sired by UK Coates Oliver, the colt was born on our ranch to our beautiful Romi Angel. He is beautiful, and I have high hopes for his future,” she continues. “My plans for Sir Royal Excalibur are to continue his training, including traditional cart, and continue breeding his legacy. I firmly believe that the Boss bloodline is an incredible bloodline. Or should I say, I think Sir Royal Excalibur is the better Boss bloodline for the Gypsy future, and I want to share that with everyone who wants the best of the best in the chocolate palomino world.”
