Happy 2010 to all of you Akhal-Teke owners and fans! There have been some very exciting Akhal-Teke events taking shape over the last few months.
Akhal-Tekes to exhibit in the 2010 International Equestrian Festival in Lexington during the World Equestrian Games
“Lexington, KY – As thousands of visitors travel to Lexington, KY, to watch the world’s premier equestrians compete for top honors at the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games, there is another reason to explore the city in the heart of the bluegrass.
Horse Capital Productions, LLC, a Lexington-based company, will present the 2010 International Equestrian Festival, to be held simultaneously with the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games. The 2010 International Equestrian Festival will run September 25 – October 10, 2010, at the state-of-the-art 100,000 square foot Lexington Convention Center, located in downtown Lexington.
“The 2010 International Equestrian Festival will highlight local, regional and international businesses. By showcasing area proprietors and attractions, the 2010 International Equestrian Festival provides an economic driver for Lexington, the commonwealth of Kentucky and the entire region,” said Kimberly Eilers Brown, Cofounder and Managing Partner of Horse Capital Productions. The multimillion-dollar event will feature world-class educational seminars, demonstrations, and convention activities, as well as shopping with high-end retailers from around the world. A portion of the proceeds from the 2010 International Equestrian Festival will be donated to local, national and international charitable horse organizations, according to Anne Buchanan, Horse Capital Productions’ Chief Executive Officer and Founder (www.horsecapitalproductions.com).”
Spoga Horse, the top international trade fair for equestrian sports in Europe, will be the official European partner for the 2010 International Equestrian Festival. Martin Collins Surfaces and Footings LLC, manufacturer of Polytrack, the world’s leading high performance synthetic all-weather racetrack, sport horse and gallop surface, has announced that it will provide material for “Polytrack Park” through its sponsorship of the 2010 International Equestrian Festival.
Akhal-Tekes will be exhibited daily in native costume and conventional tack, under saddle and in-hand, at the Polytrack Park in the center of the International Festival expo.

The Akhal-Teke Breeders’ Coop, a group of Akhal-Teke Society of America members, is organizing a booth in the Equine Village at the Kentucky Horse Park during the FEI World Equestrian Games. The Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games 2010 are comprised of the world championships for eight equestrian sports show jumping, dressage, eventing, driving, endurance, vaulting, reining and para-equestrian. The FEI World Equestrian Games are held every four years, two years prior to the Olympic Games, and are governed by the Federation Equestre Internationale (FEI). The Equine Village venue is unique to the 2010 World Equestrian Games. It will be a central site that houses both exhibits from various equine organizations and a number of world-class equine demonstrations and special events. The combination of equine exhibits and demonstrations will showcase the depth and scope of the equine industry to spectators.
