Buckeye Arabian & Half-Arabian Alliance June 2010

Show season is finally underway and I hope you are having a great time. Notice I said having a great time and didn’t mention winning. Remember, we do this for fun; there is always another opinion at another show on another weekend.

Buckeye will be over by the time you read this, and I cannot say for sure, but I will guess that everyone had a good time. We are open to suggestions if you have any for next year’s show. Just email me at Cindy@CindyClinton.com. I want to thank you for your continued support. Our shows cannot make it without the exhibitors and the sponsors. We try to put on the best show we can but even then there is only so much we can do. When we put our schedules together we have no idea how many horses we will have and that makes all the difference in whether the show runs smoothly or not. This year’s schedule was relatively the same as last year with the exception of approximately 10 fewer classes; so if the schedule was not too hectic we probably had about the same amount of horses as last year. If it was hectic that hopefully means we were up in numbers this year. In a future newsletter, I will go into more details on the show, after it has actually happened.

I would like to encourage those of you to attend the Region 14 Championship show in Lexington, KY, at the Kentucky Horse Park. We are fortunate enough to be able to take advantage of all the work that has been done for the World Games coming in September. I am hoping that the majority of the construction is completed by our show. The dates are June 29-30 for the Silverama pre-show and June 30 for the Bill & Betty Zekan Memorial Youth Show. The Regional show begins on July 1 and goes thru the 4th. Lorry Mikosz is judging the Youth Show with Bob Gordon judging the Silverama main ring classes. Katie Whaley will be judging the Silverama Carriage Driving; Sue Kolstad, Sporthorse; Jacqueline Lindberg, Dressage; and Jan Decker judging the Silverama Reining and Trail. For the Regional Main Ring classes we have Karen Homer Brown, Myron Krause, John Lambert, and Rick Moser. Thomas Brede will judge Sporthorse; Brian Ross will be adjudicating the Regional Dressage. Karen Homer Brown will also be judging the Regional Carriage Driving. Can you believe how many judges it takes to put this show on? There are way too many volunteers to thank them all personally, however I would like to extend a huge thank you to the volunteers as this show would not happen without all of your hard work.

Until next month, when I can give you some definite results on how the show went: good luck and have fun; that is why we do this.
